MODEL MISSIONS

The team here at Sound Tree Entertainment believe in the importance of giving back, whether be our time or money to help others here in our community or abroad. Therefore, we have created a new program called Model Missions and are looking for volunteers to assist us with our goal "to serve" others.
"The goal of Model Missions is to divide our charitable efforts and allow talent, parents and industry professionals to join the program and make a difference by serving others. When I was 16, my parents allowed me to go on a missionary trip to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and I was able to see firsthand God's grace of what he had provided me... A loving family, a home with food, shoes on my feet and a good education. With all the things we do here at Sound Tree Entertainment, this program allows us to give back and help others in need."
Gregory James Blount, Executive Producer
Model Missions is divided into three areas of service: Our Community, Our Outreach and Our Missions
1) Our Local Community: Bring together kids and tweens to serve on specific projects in our area that can make a difference. Under the "Lend A Hand" banner, our goal is to bring kids from 7 to 12 years of age to create, manage and be involved in all aspects of project development.
Here, the kids will choose a project to focus on, such as volunteering at a soup kitchen or helping an animal shelter, to focus on. Under the supervision of adult volunteers, the kids will learn the importance of social entrepreneurism and learn all aspects of managing the project from beginning to end including spreading the word, creating the marketing message and handling the PR.

2) Our Outreach: Under Outreach, our goal is to bring together teens from all areas of the community to use social media to create social change towards a specific goal. After the earthquake in Haiti, many families there where left without the basic necessities of life. With the amount of damage the country has endured simple things such as walking around could be dangerous.
Our goal, in a working arrangement with Tom's Shoes, is to bring together the local area public and private schools to adopt an alternative shoe uniform policy to allow Tom's Shoes to be worn as part of the approve uniform code. When a pair of Tom's Shoes are purchased, the company donates a pair of shoes to a third world country. Under this outreach program, the extra pair of shoes will be delivered to Haiti.
The teens involved in this program will use social media to spread the word amongst their schoolmates and other friends to join the cause. With the support of school authorities, the outreach will establish "A Day without Shoes," when the students will go one day and not wear shoes. This demonstration raises awareness of the need for shoes in far off stretches of the world; places where shoes are a status symbol.

3) Our Missions: Under Missions, our goal is to bring together teens and adults interested in serving on a mission trip in the Summer of 2012 and bring the performing arts to other countries, such as Africa and eventually Haiti.
Our goal is to take a group of American talented teens and adults to the Mier Pamoja School in Kenya and share all areas of the arts from acting, singing and dance with the African children at the orphanage. By bringing together American teens and African children, we will develop a show performance that allow us all to connect and bond during the training and rehearsals, all before a final performance in front of the community.
